June 2, 1835, letter written for Keokuk aboard the steamboat Warrior and signed with his mark, to Pierre Chouteau, St. Louis fur trader and financier, containing instructions regarding the delivery of a tent ordered by Keokuk in St. Louis. Keokuk wished the tent sent to the ""trading house of Mr. Smith at the foot of the lower rapids"".
