Picture postcards
Caption on back of card: This setting is just like it was in the 1830's, when Abraham Lincoln lived in the old village. The ash hopper, as shown on right was used to make soap from ashes and lye and was an important adjunct to every home. In the background is the Trent Brothers' barn. Alexander Trent served in Lincoln's Company of the 4th Regiment of Mounted Volunteers in the Black Hawk War in 1832.
Color postcard. Color photo by Brock.
