This house was built in 1896 by Dr. John E. Best. The Best family lived there until 1961. Dr. Best and his son, Bruce, who was also a doctor, had their medical offices in the home. The home had 14 rooms. The younger Best died in 1956 and his widow sold the house in 1961 to the Evangelical Free Church, which used it for Sunday school classes. It was torn down in 1966 and the land became the parking lot of the new Arlington Heights Memorial Library...
