Caption on back of card: Illinois has its state capitol in the attractive city of Springfield. Illinois, which is known as the 'Prairie State,' contains 56,650 square miles, and was admitted to the Union in 1818. The state flower is the rose. Illinois was named in 1809, the word signifying, it is said, 'superior men.'
Color postcard. Made in Germany. Picture on front of card appears in decorative border, with images of national and state emblems (United States coat of arms, Seal of the State of Illinois, and American flag) at corners. Publisher logo SL & Co. on back.
