English writer Anthony Hope Hawkins, better known as Anthony Hope, seated on the right, at the home of John Huston Finley. Hope visted Knox College to deliver a lecture in the Adelphi Lecture Course, which was promoted by James Burton Pond, seated on the far left. John Finley and his wife Martha are seated in the center.
