Picture postcards
Caption on back of card: Shryock Auditorium was built in 1918 and named after Henery [i.e., Henry] William Shryock, President of S.I.U. 1913-1935. The first public lecture was held April 4, 1918 by ex-President William Howard Taft. The culture center of the area, a wide variety of entertainment from jazz or opera to lectures or Shakespeare is held here. The old campus S.I.U. at Carbondale in southern Illinois.
