A reporter for the Chicago Tribune in Lincoln Park during the Democraitc National Convention, Mr. Judge witnessed the tensions between police and protestors. He was later assigned a body guard by the newspaper for the third night, because of the number of reporters hit by protestors and police. He emphasized seeing police without badges or identification.
