A sign advertising the Utility Battery Company. This electric company, run by Herman Wuerffel, was also known as the Wuerffel and Merker Electric Company. It was the company that brought electricity to Mount Prospect. The company operated out of a building built on the corner of Elm and Evergreen streets in the 1910s. The business ceased operation in 1927.
