This is an interview with Michael 'Mike' McCurdie who moved to Towanda, Illinois with his parents at the age of 4 in 1950. Mike discussed his parents, Fern and Slayton 'Mac', who took over the full service gasoline station and restaurant on Route 66, their death when Mike was 9 years old; of his sister Helen (Miller) who raised him; his uncle Jack McCurdie; and racial incidents in Towanda in the 1960's.
