Gary Huber was born in Galesburg, Illinois in 1946. After a rural upbringing, he entered the United States Army, where he served as a jeep driver in Germany. He re-enlisted, seeking a transfer to the United States, where he was stationed at the Nike-Hercules missile site in Munster, Indiana. Huber worked in the Chicago-Gary Defense Area, and experienced the military's preparations for the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. In 1969, H...
