- Description
Several people, both Indians and Westerners, are gathered on the lawn in front of a mission school in Cawnpore (now Kanpur), India. This school was probably one run by the Woman's Union Misisonary Society of America. Grace Ward worked as a missionary under the auspices of the Woman's Union Missionary Society in the 1870s and 1880s doing teaching and missionary work in zenanas (parts of the Indian homes reserved only for women).
