Picture postcards
Caption on back of card: Early French Architecture built in 1802 by slave labor. The first Lieutenant Governor of Illinois made his home here and many of the original furnishings are intact. This elegant home was named Mount Vernon of Illinois and is located near Chester, in Southern Illinois.
