Caption on back of card: Loomis Hall was Shurtleff's first building, erected in 1832. It is the second oldest college building in Illinois. It was rebuilt in 1920 and renamed in honor of Hubbell Loomis, the first president of the college in Alton. It is used for class rooms and student lounge.
