Photograph taken around 1898 of Madge Motes Sachs holding her violin. Miss Sachs was a lifelong Towanda resident. She was born in Oswego, Kansas on July 9, 1884 to Hanson P. and Jane Motes Sachs. She graduated from Towanda High School in 1898 and also attended Garrett Seminary in Evanston and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. She died on March 2, 1982 and is buried in Hinthorn Cemetery.
