- Description
Metropolitan Hall (built in 1856 on the north side of the 400 block of East State Street and still extant) was an active entertainment venue until overshadowed by Brown's Hall and the Opera House. Forest City Band was organized in 1867. Professor Hood taught music at Rockford Female Seminary.
