Color postcard. Street corner view of building located on the southeast corner of Broadway and First (now 17th) Street. Storefronts visible on street level, including Owings Drug Co. Building constructed 1868-1871; hotel opened as the Mattoon House, renamed Dole House after the Dole Brothers, principal builders who completed construction; later known as Hotel Byers 1913-1961, Broadway Hotel 1961-1962; building demolished in 1971.
