Fragment of letter from Captain Noah Hart of the 10th Michigan Infantry to his wife Emily. The date for this letter is unknown, but may have been written the winter after Hart's regiment left Michigan. Hart wrote about the possibility of his wife and other officers' wives visiting, the southern climate, military friends from their hometown of Lapeer, Michigan, business matters in Lapeer, and his obligation to fulfill his duty and never resign.
