Military orders dated May 10, 1778 written by Major Arent Schuyler De Peyster, commandant at Fort Michilimackinac. In this document De Peyster instructs all traders in the region to bring two or three Indians in their canoes to the fort for service to the King. De Peyster states that officers Langlade and Verville may not have a sufficient number of canoes for this purpose.
