Petition of Oneida Indians Louis Denney and members of his family to the New York Legislature in 1802 to retain 640 acres of land. Over a period of years, the Oneida tribe gradually ceded most of its reservation land to the state of New York. Denney et al. lived for many years at Canaseraga near Oneida Lake.
