In this August, 1942 Bloomington, Illinois Pantagraph newspaper article, J.B. Barnard, age 16, of rural Towanda, became President of the Future Farmers of America Chapter. His parents, Florence and DuWayne Barnard raised Brown Swiss cattle and passed on their love of farm, home and leadership to their son, J.B.
