Picture postcards
Caption on back of card: Port Byron's biggest saw mill, one of the first in Port Byron. Saw mill was located at 601 N. Main St. Many pine logs from Wisconsin were cut here, and most of the early structures were built with wood sawed at this mill. It was built before the railroad came to Port Byron as this is the reason the tracks curve at this point. The railroad had a spur here to load and off load lumber.
