Sterling Memorial Library, Yale University, New Haven, Conn. On Back: Sterling Memorial Library. Seam-face granite with limestone trim, built by the bequest of John W. Sterling, Class of 1864. Architect, James Gamble Rogers, '89. In the stacks of the central tower are most of Yale's books. Special collections are in adjoining wings. General reading rooms are on the ground floor.
