This photograph is of the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors), one of the palaces within the Agra Fort in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. This view is looking east toward the Yamuna River and the Taj Mahal, which can be seen in the distance. The Fort, which is more like a walled city, was built by Akbar in the late 16th century. The Fort at Agra functioned as the imperial city of the Mughal rulers.
