January 14, 1812, letter to Jared Mansfield, surveyor-general of the United States, 1803-1812, who was then engaged in the survey of Ohio and the Northwest Territory, requesting an opportunity to join the surveying team despite Indian dangers. Larwill also notes that the recent Battle of Tippecanoe should deter Indian aggression.
