Caption on front of card continues: Tornado at Mattoon, Ill., which killed 216 people, 54 of these at Mattoon. 500 injured at Mattoon, and property loss $5,000,000.
Black-and-white postcard. Photo documents the destruction following the tornado of May 26, 1917. Address believed to have been 704 or 710 Dewitt Avenue.
