The Observer is a newsletter for the faculty, staff and retirees of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, published fortnightly during the Fall and Spring academic semesters and monthly during the Summer term. It contains black-and-white illustrations and measures 11 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches.
Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville Alums, Civic Leaders Elected Directors Of UP James Farmer, founder of the Congress of Racial Equality CORE) and a major civil rights leader during the 1960s, will be the guest speaker at the 12th annual celebration commemorating the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Tues- Farmer day, Jan. 11.
