A 1950 to 1960 Pantagraph newspaper article with photograph of Ralph W. Close, a rural mail carrier being presented an award from the National Safety Council's "Safe Driver Award" by Postmaster Amelia Crichton of Towanda. Article relates when he began his duties, how many miles he traveled, and some memories he had. He served 170 families on his 60.1 mile route.
