Mr. Newcomb recounts his experience living and working in the Civilian Conservation Corps camp in Charleston, Ill. in 1936. He discusses the location of the camp just off of 4th street, the work he did such as planting trees and driving men to work in a lime quarry. He refers to the experience as a "relief program" because of no work or jobs at the time. The transcript includes a sketch of the camp.
