The Western Courier is a newspaper focusing primarily on the Western Illinois University and Macomb communities. Owned and operated since 1905 by Western Illinois University students, the Western Courier is currently published three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), with a 5, 000 copy circulation distributed throughout the WIU campus and Macomb community. During a short time from 1974-1975, the paper was renamed The Prairie Star.
