Ruth's dress shop and the Sheridan Beauty Salon were located in the Public Service Building on the east side of Milwaukee Avenue. Ruth's Distinctive Dresses (348 N. Milwaukee Avenue) featured fine name brand dresses and sportswear including L'Aiglon Apparel, Nardis of Dallas, and Jonathan Logan. Adjacent to Ruth's was the Sheridan Beauty Salon (348½ N.
