- Description
Prentiss served under Grant and Sherman at Pittsburg Landing, taking the position in "the Hornet's Nest" and holding for several hours before surrendering 2,200 men. Prentiss and his men were exchanges in October of 1862. Prentiss resigned his position in 1863 and returned to Quincy. BW Portrait 7 1/2" x 10"
