Hawthorn School

In 1923 two small rural schools (Coon School, built along what is now Route 45, and Butterfield School on Allanson Road, which served the southern part of Mundelein) joined together with Hawthorn School to form Consolidated District #73. This building, which started as a four-room school building, was dedicated as Hawthorn School in December, 1924.
