Corporal Overstreet was the photographer and radioman for the Headquarters Radio Unit of the 252nd Field Artillery Battalion. This unit landed on Omaha Beach in France on October 9, 1944. They traveled by foot through France and Belgium to cross the Roer and Rhine Rivers into Germany by November of 1944 as part of the Ninth Army.
