Letter from Captain Noah Hart of the 10th Michigan Infantry to his wife Emily. Dated July 22, 1864. Noah wrote from along the Chattahoochee River in Georgia. The Union Army's siege of Atlanta had just begun. A handwritten note from the transcriber reads: "Palmer refused to cooperate with Scofield & Sherman instantly 'relieved' him & gave the Corps to Genl J.C. Davis."
