Postcard of John Wood Statue in center of Washington Park. Text on reverse reads: John Wood Statue. Washington Park. Quincy, Illinois. In 1822 John Wood became the first white settler and founder of the city. He was elected Lieutenant Governor of the state and it 1860 became the 12th Governor of Illinois. Duplicate statue of Governor Wood is in the rotunda of the State Capitol in Springfield. Postcard Color 5.5" x 3.5".
